*Position Title:* Income Tax Analyst II, III, or Senior

*Position Purpose:*
This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with various governmental income tax laws and regulations.
Specifically, this position is responsible for corporate, federal, and state income tax return preparation and reporting, the correct presentation of the income tax position in the financial statements, and the communication of those positions to management, external financial auditors, and federal and state departments of revenue.
The incumbent is also responsible for development of forecasts and planning specific to income tax positions.
*Essential Functions:* * Research, analyze, and prepare Tax M adjustments for the preparation of financial statements, energy transactions, journal entries, and other financial information to determine correct application, reporting, and compliance with foreign and domestic federal and state laws and regulations.
* Ensure adherence to interpretations including preparation of formal private letter ruling requests and tax accounting changes for filing with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), as well as appropriate adjustments impacting deferred tax positions for financial statement impact.
* Review and prepare all federal and state income tax returns and forms to ensure accurate reporting to departments of revenue.
* Provide direction to accountants and others for proper income tax treatment or presentation in the fixed assets Asset Management System.
* Develop responses to external financial auditors and auditors from federal and state departments of revenue.
* Develop and maintain federal forecasts and scenarios of income tax position monthly, annually, and as business needs dictate.
*Qualifications**:* *Income Tax Analyst II:* * Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field.
* Four years of experience in income tax.
*Income Tax Analyst III:* * Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field.
* Six years of experience in income tax.
*Senior Income Tax Analyst:* * Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field.
* Eight years of experience in income tax.
*Other Requirements:* * Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certificate.
* Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations as they relate to corporate, separate, and consolidated income tax reporting.
* Knowledge of accounting principles and theory.
* Advanced knowledge of and extensive experience with the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations, and State Tax regulations.
* Experience with computer information systems.
* Proficient in personal computer operations.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills.
* Able to work with minimal direction.
* Leadership skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal skills, * Experience with IRS or state departments of revenue audits is preferred.
* Experience in completing multiple areas of a corporate tax return is preferred.

It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination.
This position requires the ability to communicate and must be able to clearly exchange accurate information.
It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures, and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines.
