Summary of Work We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Senior Accountant.
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional who is able to undertake multiple accounting tasks and work diligently under pressure.
This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion, is a strong team player, and has strong verbal and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities include: Budget development, maintenance and analysis of the agency budget and biennial budget request.
Includes monthly budget reports, budget trend analysis and forecasting.
Development of the annual resource justification model for the UI Admin grant.
Prepare Federal grant expenditure reports.
Lead assistance in annual financial statement schedules preparation.
Complete coding and input all accounts payable vouchers in accounting system.
Process purchasing card transactions and reallocation.
Process vendor 1099s annually.
Complete daily and monthly reconciliations of cash and postage accounts.
Maintain property inventory control system for tracking agency assets.
Conduct annual review of applicable procedures and policies.
Conduct annual review, update and purge of financial records per records retention schedule.
Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting, statistics, economics, or business, and 2 years of professional level finance experience; or a combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to candidates possessing experience with the financial functions of PeopleSoft as utilized in North Dakota State Government and that have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access applications, along with good oral and written communication skills.
