The Comptroller is primarily responsible for directing the City of Bismarck's accounting, financial records management, investment functions, and assisting the Finance Director with budget and other financial-related functions of the City.
The Comptroller is responsible for managing and developing 10 fiscal services staff, overseeing multiple financial processes and internal controls, monitors compliance with City's financial policies, ensures accuracy and proper reporting of the City's financial records, coordinates the independent financial audit and CAFR preparation in accordance with GASB and GAAP, managing projects, and assisting the Finance Director with the City's budget and other functions as necessary.
*Minimum Qualifications*:
* Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of an baccalaureate degree in accounting or financial management.
* Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require five years of related experience.
* Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
* Possession of or ability to readily obtain CPA certification.
* Ability to be bonded.

Pay: $101,937.
