*Title: *Senior Accountant

*Description*
The Senior Accountant assists in general ledger management, account reconciliations, depreciation and accruals, restricted asset releases, cash receipts processing, and is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures in accordance with GAAP while ensuring appropriate accounting controls and procedures are maintained.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required
* 3+ years’ experience related to management accounting preferred
* Experience with non-profit accounting is a plus
* Microsoft Excel proficiency and the ability to manipulate large volumes of data ·
* Clear background checks as defined by regulations and policies
* Must possess good verbal, reading, and written communication in English; basic math skills; and basic computer skills.
*Responsibilities*
* Participates in and oversees the month-end closing process.
* Ensure accurate and appropriate recording, reporting, and analysis of revenues and expenses.
* Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
* managing accounts receivable by booking the sales and Cash application to client accounts.
This may involve reviewing the payer’s proper allocation to contractual allowances, other adjustments, and payments for both Private pay or institutional billings (Medicare/Medicaid).
* Assist the Staff Accountants in resolving customer short payments and unpaid past due amounts
* Maintain payroll-related accounts, provide advisement to Staff Accountant concerning the complex time entries in Greenshades.
* Processing Payroll in Great Plains and direct depositing into employee’s accounts
* Ensures compliance with ACC policies as well as state and federal regulations including IRS, FLSA, and DOL requirements.
* Maintains Capital Assets and stays current on deprecation methodology.
* Monitor, reconcile, and resolve bank issues.
* Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
* Evaluates all requests to add or change any departments or general ledger account numbers to ensure consistency and accuracy of the financial statements.
* Assists with preparations for audits.
* Delegates accounting tasks to staff accountants.
* Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
