Employment Type: N/A FLSA Status: Non Exempt RESPONSIBILITIES: Under limited direction, performs moderately complex preventative maintenance and repair activities consistent with policies and procedures on wind turbines.
Complete quality checks on turbine maintenance and repairs performed by service provider.
Maintain roadways, collector lines, buildings, fences, and other balance of plant assets on site.
Operate, maintain and manage road maintenance equipment, utility truck and related tools.
Perform high and medium voltage switching to isolate turbines and electric feeder circuits.
Attend regular safety meetings and follows appropriate company safety and environmental policies.
Work within clearly defined standard operating procedures and adheres to quality guidelines.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Completion of a Wind a technical degree PLUS two years or more wind turbine experience OR three years or more experience with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical maintenance OR High School diploma or equivalent PLUS three years or more wind turbine experience OR High School diploma or equivalent PLUS four years or more experience with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical maintenance *Candidates with an electrical technology, electronics/fiber technology, mechanical maintenance technology, or related certificate will also be considered SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position will report regularly in person to Glen Ullin Energy Center, located near Glen Ullin, ND.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to meet the physical/mental/environmental demands of the position.
Ability to: Work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance Climb and work at heights greater than 250 feet from the ground surface.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Understand and follow customary instructions in order to perform the essential functions of the position in a satisfactory manner.
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work with minimal supervision.
Work in mechanically and electrically oriented situations.
Effectively carry-out the Essential Functions of the position.
Previous equivalent related experience and/or as the Company may determine to be an appropriate skill level.
Successful completion of all training, education courses and/or skill level testing required by the Company for entry into this position.
Skill in the use of personal computers (i.
e.
, Windows environment, word processing and spreadsheet applications).
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions for this position.
Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment utilized for this position.
First aid, CPR, AED, forklift certification, and OSHA 10 certification preferred.
Heavy equipment operations (i.
e.
, Loader, Grader, Forklift, Snow-Cat) experience is desirable.
Must demonstrate good interpersonal, leadership, organizational and decision-making skills.
Regular attendance is required.
This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
