*Renewable Energy- Site Project Manager – Utility Scale site*
*Opportunity Overview*
Ethos is seeking a passionate and results oriented Site Construction Project Manager to lead Ethos on-site teams serving as owner’s representatives and site leadership for a leading renewables developer.
This role provides high visibility both within Ethos’ rapidly developing renewables platform business, and for our customer, a developer with a 10+ GW portfolio buildout underway through 2028.
The first assignment is for a 200 MW wind farm project, with multiple opportunities for growth and development within both Ethos and owner.
The Site Construction Project Manager (SCPM) will represent Ethos Distributed Solutions and our customer on a full range of site related utility-scale wind construction issues.
This includes monitoring all aspects of site construction, including managing the EPC Contractor (BOP Agreement), the Turbine Supply Agreement, and all other equipment and services supply agreements.
The SCPM will work with Ethos in developing and staffing a team of seven additional professionals to assist him/her in this effort, including Site Safety Manager, Project Engineers, Electrical and Mechanical Inspectors, and Construction QA personnel.
Ethos will give preference to candidates who have industry contacts and who are eager to take a hands-on approach to building the site team and expanding Ethos’ Site Services business line.
*Job description* *Education, Training and Skills Required:* * 2-year or 4-year technical degree or equivalent work experience and training.
* Minimum of 8 years of construction experience in utility scale wind power generation or heavy industrial construction projects, with an emphasis on electrical and heavy civil construction.
5 -7 years of construction supervisory experience required, including at least three years in wind farm construction.
* Ability to relocate to project sites during construction.
Projects range from 12 to 18+ months.
First project planned June 2024.
* Ability to work in all-weather environments.
*Primary Responsibilities* *Provide onsite leadership and direction.
* * Represent owner in all on-site matters.
Collaborate with owner’s team including Project Director, Engineering Manager, Legal Counsel, and Controller (all offsite), to meet overall project schedule, budgetary, quality, and safety requirements.
Proactively resolve issues prior to onset and troubleshoot and problem solve issues should they still occur.
* Provide overall onsite leadership, communication and direction to EPC contractor, Turbine Supplier, associated subcontractors, equipment suppliers, landowners and local stakeholders, and government and regulating authorities and approval agencies.
* Actively lead site team through all key phases of project, including initial mobilization, planning, active construction, and demobilization activities.
*Provide pre-construction support.
* * Perform project specific tasks in advance of mobilization; organize and run Pre-Mobilization Kickoff meetings.
* Read and understand all contracts prior to mobilization.
Read and understand all engineering and equipment documentation.
Address incomplete documentation.
* Coordinate with BOP Contractor on power, trailers, housing, local subcontractors, etc.
NOTE: The BOP Contractor will be responsible for all temporary facilities required for Contractor’s and Owner’s personnel while on site.
* Evaluate project design and engineering documents, ensuring their organization and distribution to necessary parties.
* Compile, contact, and arrange for short form subcontracts with local entities at the project site as required.
* Assist in drafting subcontracts and purchase agreements.
* Review and utilize the Best Practice Database for SWIs, quality documents, prep meetings.
*Prioritize and assure project safety.
* * Drive safety culture on site with site safety representative.
* Work with owner’s safety team to make safety a top priority and establish and maintain a safe operating environment.
* Work with all stakeholders in developing and implementing effective safety procedures including hazard identification, JSA development, etc.
* Participate in project safety audits and Zero Injury Safety Program *Lead all aspects of onsite construction.
* * Establishing effective long-term plan and schedule.
Oversee effective daily and weekly execution.
* Facilitate effective daily planning and coordination meetings with BOP Contractor and major vendors to maintain overall project schedule and budget.
* Work with key contractors through changes, technical challenges, and delays.
Develop recovery plans where feasible.
Document need for all change orders or provide documentation for rebuttal of change orders.
* Work with owner’s team and key contractors in minimizing and addressing scope changes with associated cost and schedule impacts.
* Collaborate with all parties to identify opportunities to improve cost and schedule.
* Coordinate prep meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, punch list final inspections * Oversee effective quality assurance & quality control process.
Ensure subcontractors meet all quality requirements.
* Handle the inventory inspection and management processes as materials arrive to site: including independent inspection, documentation, offload, receiving, and storage * Assist Site Project Superintendents regarding material and equipment management (pickup trucks, rented/owned equipment, coordinate the equipment facility) * Manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination drawings, shop and as-built drawings * Manage production logs for completed work (self-performed or subcontracted) * Track Event Management incidents regarding Safety or Quality *Administer effective closeout and demobilization* * Compile turnover documentation and transfer to customer per the project specific quality * Assist owner’s Project Engineer and Project Manager with getting contract documents closed out with subcontractors and suppliers * Support final inspections and punch list process with the customer.
Achieve substantial and final completion milestones on time and on budget * Provide periodic updates of the submittal register to the owner.
