Summary of Position: Traits required to succeed in this role: self-starter , work independently with minimum supervision, problem solver, and also to work as a member of a team.
Typical Hours/Days: 8:00 am-4:30 pm or 6:00 am - 4:30pm Monday - Saturday .
Hours and Days will vary with weather events, seasonal work, and emergencies.
Days and hours will vary with weekly schedules and weather events.
Job duties: This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment in support of the operations of the city landfill.
Operates a variety of heavy equipment, including wheel loaders, motor graders, scrapers, tub grinders, steel wheel compacters, screener, dump truck and farm tractor.
Maintains landfill roadways with motor grader/dozer, monitor landfill for regulatory compliance, place intermediate and final cover on trenches for site remediation and reclamation, and assist in snow removal during snow events.
Manual labor is also part of the job duties which includes carrying garbage and picking paper.
Heavy Equipment Operator (Waste Disposal) Full Job Description Required Documents to Attach: Resume Minimum Qualifications: 12 months experience in the operation and limited maintenance of heavy equipment such as loaders, motor graders, dozers, scrapers, or equivalent.
Must have a North Dakota commercial driver license, Class A or B, with air brakes.
