Perkins County Highway Department consists of a Highway Superintendent, 1 Foreman, and 8 Highway Workers that provide service to all of the Perkins County Road System.
Perkins County consists of 51 Bridges, 552 miles of County Roads, and 249 miles of Unorganized Township Roads.
Located within our County is the Grand River Grasslands.
This is public land that accounts for approxiamtely 150,000 acres with fishing, hiking, and hunting opportunities.
We also have a prime recreational opportunity with Shadehill Reservoir.
Shadehill has approximately a 5,000 surface acre lake that affords great fishing, boating, and camping.
Perkins County Highway Department is accepting job applications for a full-time employee.
Must have a Class A CDL, or be able to obtain one in 1 year, and be at least 18 years of age.
Job duties include, but are not limited to, operation of a variety of heavy construction grade equipement and trucks utilized in the construction, maintenance and repair of the County roads and bridges.
Employee will perform additional various tasks in the maintenance of the county roads, bridges, traffic control signs, fences, and related facilities.
We regulary work 40-60 hours per week.
