Summary of position:
The Construction Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager with the day to day planning and oversight of a commercial construction project(s).
Previous construction education and experience expected.
Field experience preferred.
This role will also work in the office assisting the project manager with daily tasks and ensuring projects are being completed in a timely manner.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Assist with scheduling the projects in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
Assist with the inspection and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
Assist with the interpretation and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, field staff, and clients.
Assist with the study of job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
Assist with selecting, contracting, and the oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project, such as painting or plumbing.
Assist with the requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
Assist with the preparation and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
Assist with the development and implementation quality control programs.
Assist with taking actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
Assist with the planning, organizing, and will direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems including start up and project closeout.
Assist with the investigating damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.

Education/Experience:
A four-year bachelor’s degree in construction management and/or education and experience equivalence.
Minimum 2 years of experience with construction projects.
Work Environment:
The job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and other customary office equipment.
This position will also be on-site occasionally.
