The Design Engineer II will work to create and maintain engineered designs of assigned products, systems, or components to be competitive in function, manufacturability, and marketability.
Role & Responsibility
Engineered Design Creation
Create, modify, analyze, and maintain the engineering design of all Bobcat compact attachments, mini track loaders, and small articulated loaders.
Use the Bobcat New Product Development (NPD) process to develop and implement new OEM and 3rd Party built attachments to help drive increased company revenue.
Work with other departmental functions (quality, service, production, product management, tooling, marketing, etc.
) to improve quality, manufacturing, and assembly to bring new products to market.
Participate and assist in the planning of product specifications, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements to ensure products meet needs and projects are completed as required.
Work with simulation teams to set up tests and analyze results related to structural integrity and design life.
Develop shop orders to create rapid and standard prototypes necessary for the design process.
Assist in the assembly and functional use of developed prototype attachments and parts.
Prepare and participate in product engineering presentations to suppliers, customers, and other departments.
Direct and analyze results of tests on prototype and production machines.
Be aware of trends and developments in product design from supplier contacts, workshops, and meetings, industry, and div.
contacts to determine and apply new techniques, materials, and procedures beneficial to assigned compact attachments.
Work closely with other NPD carrier teams and product management to determine approved attachments for their respective product.
Provide staff direction and Training (Design II)
Supervise the activities of other product design personnel in their assigned work.
Assist in the training and development of assigned product design personnel.
Independently manage design engineering responsibilities for assigned projects.
Job Requirement
Proficient at Creo Parametric and/or other computer engineering tools.
Written and verbal communication.
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering
Experience Required: 2 - 5 years
Travel Required: <10%
