Employee Type: Co-op (Trainee) This program requires students currently pursuing an associate or technical electrical degree, who have completed a portion of their curriculum, and will be completing their program after the co-op/intern experience.
This program is not designed for graduates.
Work will be performed at a surface lignite coal mine.
Job Description: Duties/Tasks: Troubleshooting and repairing electrical mining equipment and facilities Working with different voltage electrical systems Assisting with MSHA electrical inspections on mine equipment Operate support equipment Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established safety procedures, and stat and federal environmental regulations Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong work ethic with effective communication skills and a creative and innovative attitude Ability to work efficiently in a team environment, as well as individually with minimal supervision Working knowledge of AC and DC circuits, electrical controls, and troubleshooting with an understanding of electrical circuit schematics Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions Valid Driver’s License Educational Requirements: Enrolled in accredited electrical program and in good academic standing.
