Description:
SCOPE AND MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To perform sales transactions with guests, perform simple food preparation and maintain cleanliness and order in the store and grounds.
Requirements:
SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES
1.
Establishes and maintains a courteous and professional relationship with each guest, using effective human relations skills.
2.
Operates cash register to record all sales of merchandise including tobacco and alcohol.
3.
Receives from guests, payment in the form of cash, check or credit card, for merchandise purchased.
4.
Sets up cash drawer for the Cashier on the succeeding shift.
5.
Balances cash register tape with cash drawer receipts at the end of each shift, completes appropriate shift report, and deposits receipts according to established procedures.
6.
Performs final preparation of deli food items (i.
e.
pizza & sandwiches) according to guidelines and observing portion control.
7.
Rotates stock of food items (first in/first out), monitors inventory of food items, and requests additional items, as necessary.
8.
Receives incoming goods for resale, applies prices from invoice, and restocks display shelves, rotating stock and removing and disposing of damaged or outdated merchandise appropriately.
9.
Safeguards the premises, cash and merchandise according to prescribed procedures.
10.
Maintains the property, inside and out, including the food preparation and snack bar areas, in a clean and orderly manner, washing utensils and replacing consumable supplies (paper towels, windshield washing fluid, etc.
) as necessary.
11.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Manager or Senior Management.
PREREQUISITES
General: Must be age 21 or older.
Must qualify for a Tribal Non Gaming License.
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Must be able to communicate in the primary language of the workplace.
Experience: Experience preferred in retail counter sales or other employment involving cash register operation.
Must possess basic arithmetic skills and have the ability to make accurate monetary transactions.
Physical: Requires repetitive hand/finger motions, tolerance for standing and or walking for up to 8 hours at a time, bending, reaching, speaking, hearing, and visual acuity in (or corrected to) the normal range.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
