The successful candidate will support the engineering, survey, and operations groups.
Job Description:
Essential Duties:
Survey using GPS equipment to collect, analyze, and report production statistics.
Ability to work independently or cooperatively with other departments on special projects as needed.
Calculate monthly pit inventory and coal severed for royalty payments as well as end of month reports and maps.
Calculate volumes moved by equipment including stockpile volumes, dragline and truck/shovel yards, pond capacities, etc.
Perform as-built surveys as projects are completed.
Stakeout for construction, pits, utilities, SPGM removal, ponds, etc.
Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal environmental regulations.
Other Duties:
Aerial survey with UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) and process data to create deliverables.
Create GPS files for equipment in the operations department.
Cadastral PLSS boundary surveys for mine permitting and bond release, including working towards licensure if desired.
Drafting using AutoCAD for mapping, permitting, mine plans, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of land surveying and engineering principles and practices.
The applicant should have demonstrated computer skills and having experience in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD are a plus.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work safely in all weather conditions.
Education, Training and Experience:
An associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Surveying, or related discipline; or two years relevant experience is required.
Additional education and applicable experience is preferred.
