FT Teacher Assistant position in New Salem, ND - Apply by May 8th, 2024 Updated 4/26/2024 Teacher Assistant Details Position is full-time (40 hours per week), 9 months per year (mid August to mid May).
Summer hours may be available through HIT, Inc.
Must have valid driver's license.
This person will work in the classroom of 3 to 5 year olds as part of a teaching team.
Children attend four days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and staff have one day (Wednesday) for prep and training.
Experience with ages 3 to 5 a plus! Bilingual in Spanish is a plus! Job Description Summary Assists the teacher in providing a nurturing, safe, consistent learning environment to enhance the skills of every child.
Aide in the preparation of materials for daily activities and adhere to the cleaning and sanitizing requirements to ensure a clean working and learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Adapt to the social, emotional, physical and cognitive developmental needs of each child.
Assure the developmental progression of all children.
Contributes to documenting observations, gathering and organizing portfolio work samples, completing assessments, planning weekly lesson plans, etc.
Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the classroom to ensure the safety and mobility of each child.
Assist with implementing curriculum to meet the required Head Start Performance Standards.
Be a good role model and build positive, professional relations with the children and families.
Understand and promote school readiness for children.
Assist in the active supervision of children to ensure safety at all times.
Be able to quickly adjust to changing work environments and take on a more leadership role when the teacher is absent.
Promote parent involvement in the program.
