The nurse is accountable for delivering care to the patient utilizing the nursing process.
Must be able to work with terminally ill patients and their families to help them effectively cope with dying.
Must be a critical thinker and a team player.
Responds effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
A considerable amount of time is spent completing and reviewing charts, as well as independent decision-making.
Communicates frequently with coworkers, physicians, patients, and families.
Has accountability for own conduct and promotes and supports positive working relationships.
Provides nursing services based on initial and ongoing nursing assessments of patient needs.
Care is provided in accordance with standard nursing practice and an interdisciplinary team plan of care.
Must be a RN that is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure with ND Board of Nursing.
ACLS and BLS certification required.
Prior nursing experience is preferred.
*JOB DUTIES:*

* Participates in the development and revision of the patient's plan of care including nursing diagnosis, interventions, discharge planning, patient teaching and goal setting, in collaboration with the other members of the interdisciplinary team.
* Knowledgeable in the terminal process and the ability to teach patients and caregivers such, in an attempt to avoid a crisis.
* Possesses knowledge in pain management, death and dying issues, palliative care, and keeps current in the Hospice concept and philosophy.
* Completes documentation in a timely manner.
* Understands the criteria for Visiting Nurse admission and accepts appropriate patients, makes arrangements for other referrals, keeping the Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice Director informed.
* Patient assessment documentation.
* Consistently demonstrates ability and knowledge in performing basic nursing skills.
* Knowledge of the steps in the home visit from admission to discharge for Visiting Nurse Services Care.
* Knowledge of all sources of payment with appropriate paperwork.
* Knowledge of required paperwork to meet rules and regulations.
* Performing comprehensive assessment.
* Knowledge and ability to perform venipuncture per policy.
* Knowledge of the terminal process and the ability to teach patients and families such in an attempt to avoid a crisis.
* Knowledge of the procedure of death of patient in home setting.
* Consistently demonstrates ability and knowledge in performing specialized skills which include care and maintenance of patient with Port-a-cath, Subclavian cath, and PICC/Landmark cath.
* Care of patient with TPN.
* Care of patient with Trach.
* Care of patient with continuous intravenous device pumps.
* Acts as a resource for complex patient to incorporate other community support systems.
* Determine frequencies and schedule for patient visits.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $27.
59 - $37.
