Civil Science is currently seeking a qualified Survey Crew Chief to join our Williston or Dickinson, North Dakota team.
The Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for conducting field survey activities that will include design and construction surveys for land development, transportation projects, and municipal infrastructure related projects.
This is a full-time benefited position with over-time pay, company provided vehicle and survey equipment, safety gear, and opportunity for advancement.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with Lead Surveyor to maintain accurate records of the progress of project Engage in extended work hours while stationed at a road construction site, undertaking responsibilities such as construction staking and conducting quantity surveys.
Collaborate with Civil Science Construction Inspection team to complete survey requests in an accurate and timely manner Gather field survey data through the use of conventional surveying and GPS methods Operate and maintain survey instruments, such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
Primary project duties will focus on the Watford City area, with potential involvement in additional projects across different regions.
Requirements Minimum of 2 years of related experience Proficient in the use of total station (conventional and robotic) and GPS (RTK, VRS and static) instruments Strong experience in boundary, topographic, control surveys, and construction staking for site development Commitment to safety and adherence to industry regulations Ability to travel to projects as needed A valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one Preferred Requirements: College training or LS is a plus A High School diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years relevant experience Experience with transportation projects Experience with Trimble equipment (total station and GPS) Experience with laser scanning instruments, GPS data processing, AutoCAD and Civil3D About Civil Science Civil Science is a full-service civil engineering firm established in 2002 through an employee buyout of a local firm which has been continuously providing consulting engineering services since 1978.
