The Carrington Research Extension Center is seeking an Agronomy Research Technician for our agronomy research program.
The person in this position is responsible for assisting researchers in conducting field crops research and facility upkeep.
The position requires diverse skills with major responsibilities to include field research trial implementation and management, equipment operation and maintenance, building maintenance, and laboratory duties .
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 a.
m.
to 5 p.
m.
with extended hours at various times of the year.
Advertised Salary: $38,000 + per year depending on experience plus retirement plan and full coverage for family health insurance.
Minimum Qualifications: • A.
S.
degree or equivalent related experience with field crop production or equipment operation.
• The experience or demonstrated ability to learn the skills necessary to operate and maintain specialized field research and laboratory equipment.
• Willingness to be timely to work schedule and desire to put forth consistent and full work days.
• Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License Preferred Qualifications: • 3-5 years hands-on and practical experience and knowledge of crops and crop production.
• Knowledge and experience related to field crop production and field equipment operation.
• Experience applying agricultural pesticides and related crop input applications.
• Experience with field research techniques that include planting, imposition of treatments, maintenance, and harvesting research trials.
• Verified experience in the repair and maintenance of farm equipment.
