Jellison’s Repair LLC in Williston, ND is actively looking to add a Class B Semi Truck Technician to our team.
The Class B Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining all medium to heavy duty semi-trucks and trailers, which includes routinely performing preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance to ensure safe and efficient vehicle operation.
The Class B Tech will perform job duties independently with minimal supervision and must be equipped with personal toolbox.
Job Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations
Ability to understand, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of semi-trucks and trailers ranging from brake replacements to complete engine rebuilds as well as diagnostics and repairs of electrical components, HVAC systems, air, and hydraulic systems
Ability to operate diagnostic computers/software and analyze results
Ability to understand an electrical circuit
Ability to read and understand electrical and air schematic
Ability to understand and perform alignments on multi-axle equipment
Ability to read and understand service orders, keep service orders updated and turned in upon completion
Ability to document equipment information and repairs completed on service orders, including fluids, parts etc.
Ability to read, write and communicate proficiently in English
Ability to order all required parts to perform necessary repairs
Ability to use and understand industry verbiage
Ability to keep work area, shop tools, personal tools, equipment etc.
clean and organized
Ability to work on your own with minimal supervision
Ability to report to scheduled shift, on time and prepared to work
Ability to follow instructions both written and verbal
Ability to problem solve independently
Ability to withstand excessive loud noise
Ability to work in frequent and repetitive movement throughout the day (walking, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and standing)
Ability to perform job duties efficiently but thoroughly as well

Desired Skills, Qualifications & Requirements
Proficient in preventative maintenance repairs such as oil changes, fuel filters, brake replacement etc
Intermediate diagnostics and repairs of all diesel engines including Cat, Cummins, and Detroit
Intermediate diagnostics and repairs of heavy-duty transmissions and differentials
3-5+ years of relevant semi-truck mechanic experience
Must have your own set of general tools and your own toolbox
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as random testing for the duration of your employment
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check (a previous criminal record, including felonies, is not an automatic disqualification)
Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50lbs
Positive attitude
Candidate must have valid work authorization to work in the US
Driver’s license or work permit
Work Hours
Monday-Friday 7am-5pm
Saturdays are optional
Preferred but Not Required Qualifications
Current CDL
Ability to weld and fabricate
Continuance of relevant education
Current DOT/Annual Certification
Working Conditions
Employees are generally indoors, however there may be occasional diagnostic or smaller repairs done outdoors
