Summary of Work
Preparing financial reports, and maintaining reports to meet federal and state requirements on behalf of the State and DOCR, which could total approximately $10-$15 million per biennium.
This includes facilitating the development, approval, receipt, and concurrence of all funded sub-grant recipient applications for funding, amendments, and contractual arrangements.
Review and authorize reimbursement for sub-grant recipients and ensure reimbursement is in adherence to contractual agreement.
Conduct and manage audit activities of sub-grant recipients.
Act as a liaison and provide technical assistance to sub-grant recipients to ensure terms and conditions of contracts and grants are being met, which may require professional public speaking in a large setting with sub-recipients.
Make decisions on eligibility and validity of claims filed by victims by investigating information received from various agencies including but not limited to prosecutors, law enforcement, victim advocate programs, and medical providers.
Search whether there are collateral sources of payment such as medical insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, or any other potential source since the crime incident.
Attend on-site audits of sub-recipients 10 to 12 days a year.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of college level coursework and three years of work experience in grant or contract management or any financial reporting required.
Successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and successfully complete a criminal background and reference check.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite software required.
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate prior work experience or education in the following:
A bachelors degree in a related field, such as business administration, criminal justice, or finance.
Experience working with victims of crime and/or victim compensation programs.
Experience with federal and state grant regulations and reporting requirements.
