Our growing practice has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Services Supervisor!
POSITION DESCRIPTION/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates with licensure or certification in healthcare related fields (i.
e.
RN, LPN, LSW, MLT, etc.
)
Preferred:
Experience in ophthalmology and previous experience in a clinic setting preferred.
COA/COT certification is desired
Experience in leading a team and performing staff training preferred
Strong leadership abilities with a focus on quality patient care
Other: Ability to communicate in a courteous, effective manner.
Ability to work under pressure uses good judgment and solve problems.
Schedule: Clinic schedule Monday-Thursday 8:00-5:30, Friday 8:00-5:00.
Schedule may fluctuate based on surgery or satellite clinic schedules.
Will occassionaly be required to travel via car or small airplane to satellite locations.
NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions: May require long periods of walking, standing.
Able to lift bags greater than 25 lbs.
Work occasionally with chemicals.
Clinical Services Supervisor Job Duties:
Patient Flow
1.
Assists/substitutes for Coordinator as needed to assure patient flow-overseeing MD schedule, checking waiting room to ensure all patients are being seen in a reasonable length of time.
Knowledgeable about MD and OD practice preferences.
Patient Care
1.
Performs technician duties as needed to assure patient flow or cover absences.
2.
Oversees patient phone calls-triages questions, medication refill requests, other miscellaneous issues both during clinic and surgery hours.
3.
Reviews lab work/tests and takes appropriate action.
4.
Patient teaching related to eye anatomy, disease process, treatment options, usual outcomes.
Utilizes printed materials.
5.
Coordination of care to facilitate patient referrals as needed including appointments, testing, medical records, and follow-up.
Surgical Coordinator
1.
Schedule surgery including date and location of surgery.
2.
Provide any necessary education to patients and families.
Provide educational materials specific to procedure(s) being scheduled.
3.
Discuss consent thoroughly, tailoring to individual patient.
4.
Coordinate appropriate eye drop education, prescription, and ordering from pharmacy.
5.
Schedule post-operative appointments.
6.
Coordinate surgery schedule for particular day; communicate it to appropriate facilities and staff.
7.
Complete necessary paperwork related to surgeries pre-op and post-op including hospital requirements.
8.
Coordinate phone calls, add-ons, paperwork during surgery day, liaison between surgery center/MD and offices.
Miscellaneous
1.
Assist with special projects as requested.
2.
Identifies and assists in development of /revision of processes in conjunction with clinic leadership.
3.
Assists in identifying/providing staff education in conjunction with the clinic leadership.
4.
Other duties as assigned.
