Summary of Work
The individual will work as a team member in an infirmary setting and within the Medical and Psychiatric Service Program.
The position requires a holistic approach to health care service with emphasis on health maintenance through patient education and positive self-initiative.
Specific duties include but are not limited to, provision of health care nursing to the resident population; dispensing medication; emergency nursing care; participation in behavioral management procedures and infection control; thorough documentation of patient care and medical records; and individual, group and wellness education.
The position's work schedule is rotating shifts in a 40-hour work week within a facility that operates 24/7.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the ND Board of Nursing.
Requires interpersonal skills and communication skills necessary to perform job duties and must have ability to work with an all-male resident population on a daily basis.
Strong clinical skills required.
Psychiatric, medical surgical, and critical care background preferred, but not necessary.
Individual must be flexible and innovative in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
Must successfully complete standard background and criminal record check.
