Medical Billing Technician

Summary of Position: Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health is hiring a full-time 40 hour/week Medical Billing Specialist.
This position is responsible for preparing, managing and coordinating medical claims for submission to third-party payers in compliance with federal and insurance billing standards.
Individual will be responsible for assigning appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes for claim submission to third-party payers, generating claims, and processing billing, accounting transactions for private payers through the City's financial software system, follow-up of rejected claims and reconciliation of transactions to ensure proper payment was received.
Ideal candidate should be familiar with Electronic Medical Record systems and medical billing practices.
As an employee of the Public Health department, participates in emergency preparedness and response activities and reports for special assignments during a public health emergency or disaster situation.
Medical Billing Technician Full Job Description Required Documents to Attach: Cover letter Resume Certifications Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of work experience as a medical biller or medical billing specialist.
Possession of valid class D driver's license issued by the state of North Dakota.
Special Requirements: Certification in medical coding and billing or at least 2 years of work experience.
