This is a position that is located at The Eye Clinic of North Dakota in Bismarck, ND with service to multiple satellite locations.
Position works under the direction of the Ophthalmic Team and Administrator.
Will be responsible for assisting in care and preparation of surgical patients by performing routine and delegated duties Performs scrub duties as well as Ophthalmology Technician duties on non-surgical days.
Ophthalmology Technician duties include screening and preparing patients for clinical exams with Optometrists and Ophthalmologist.
Education: Completion of Surgical Technologist program required.
Licensure: Certified Surgical Technologist certification required.
CST: Certified Surgical Technologist certification required
Duties:
Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidence related to all services.
Principles of aseptic and sterile technique
Knows fundamentals of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and sterilization procedures
Basic knowledge of surgical procedures and how to use and take care of equipment
Medications relevant to eye surgery
Ability to establish effective communications with doctors, patients, and staff
Physical Effort: Need to be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
of medical equipment for Satellite travel.

Hours of Work: Monday through Friday.
Primarily 8-5:30, Satellite locations include travel (vehicle & small plane) returning late in the day (10:00 pm or later) 2-3 days throughout the month in rotation with other technicians – later travel time is factored into hours for the week.
No required on-call hours, as well as no weekends or holidays.
