Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team.
As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to expectant mothers during the labor and delivery process.
Your expertise and dedication will contribute to ensuring a safe and positive birthing experience for both mother and baby.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the progress of labor, including fetal heart rate, contraction patterns, and maternal vital signs
- Administer medications and pain management techniques as needed
- Assist with the delivery of the baby, including monitoring the baby's condition and providing immediate care
- Educate and support expectant mothers and their families throughout the labor and delivery process
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
- Document all patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality
- Provide postpartum care to mother and newborn, including breastfeeding support and newborn assessments
Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license in [state]
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Previous experience in labor and delivery or obstetrics preferred
- Strong knowledge of physiology related to pregnancy, labor, and delivery
- Familiarity with sonography for fetal monitoring
- Proficient in IV insertion and medication administration
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
