*JOB SUMMARY*
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)-Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) will provide patient/resident care as required under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse.
The CNA-NAR completes assigned tasks to ensure timely, efficient and safe patient/resident care.
Communication and interactions with patients, residents, families and other health team members is an essential component of this position to assure resident safety and well-being.
*KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB*
1.
Perform initial and ongoing data collection on all patients/residents under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
2.
Implement plan of care developed by the RN based on patient/resident physical, psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs.
3.
Provide direct patient/resident care and reports condition and changes to RN or LPN.
4.
Demonstrate time management and prioritization of tasks.
5.
Document results of patient/resident care within established policies, procedures and scope of practice.
6.
Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.
7.
Performs other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned.
*QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED*
· Must be in good standing on the State Nursing Assistant registry or appropriate entity
*QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED*
· Previous experience in health care or long term care
· CPR certified
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES*
· Must have good communication skills.
· Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
· Organizational skills.
· Ability to observe and report patient/resident status and implement the plan of care.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities.
