We are seeking a full-time Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) to join our dynamic team of employees who collaborate to perform the highest quality of work with compassion and respect for co-workers, patients, and family members.

An Oncology Data Specialist (formerly known as a Certified Tumor Registrar) is someone who analyzes, abstracts and codes patient demographics and cancer-related information, including treatment and staging.
A review of medical records on all cancer cases seen in central North Dakota is entered into a database.
These detail-oriented specialists ensure correct staging, coding and subsequent patient care and survival reports are completed.
In addition, an ODS helps coordinate multidisciplinary cancer case conferences.
This behind-the-scenes work assists physicians to provide quality care and management of their patients’ disease.
The ODS will maintain ongoing training and education for accrediting agencies.
*Education: *Minimum of an Associate Degree in Health Sciences or Allied Health including at least two semesters of anatomy and physiology required.
Acquisition of Oncology Data Specialist credential within three years from hire date required.
*Experience*: Two years in a healthcare setting preferred.
Certification is preferred but will train.
Certification required within three years of hire date.
Excellent computer/typing skills and ability to work independently while maintaining patient confidentiality required.
