Optometric Assistant

*Duties* - Assist optometrist in providing patient care and performing various procedures - Perform preliminary tests and screenings, such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception - Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits - Assist in eyewear selection and perform repair/maintenance of eyewear - Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care - Assist with front desk duties, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information - Perform basic medical coding and billing tasks *Qualifications* - Previous experience in an optometry or ophthalmology *required *(2 years) - Knowledge of optical terminology and procedures - Familiarity with medical billing and coding practices - Ability to take accurate patient medical history and record vital signs - Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems - Strong communication skills to interact with patients and colleagues effectively - Knowledge of basic physiology related to the eye and visual system - Sales experience is a *required* Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
