OVERVIEW:
This position coordinates, develops, delivers, and supports training activities across all departments at the Marathon Dickinson Renewables Facility and Terminal.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to coordinate multiple projects aimed to engage a diverse workforce in actively owning their learning and development, in alignment with Refining Standard Practices.
The Advanced Training Specialist also establishes and maintains a culture of safety and environmental excellence through training for the execution of major projects and turnaround work, primarily focused on LOTO, decontamination, and shutdown/startup procedures and associated activities to execute work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regularly review all training materials for accuracy and alignment with instructional system design principles.
Develops and updates training material to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements, specifically RSP-1305 and other associated RSP’s, with input from operators and operating leaders while ensuring management of change is followed.
Prepares and participates in orientation programs for new hourly employees, including Basic Operator Training.
Champions operator progression training and documentation, including communicating the training status and progress for operating personnel, proactively identifying exceptions for resolution.
Supports the Area Team by providing training and operational assistance as requested during troubleshooting or periods of abnormal operating conditions.
Evaluates, verifies, and coordinates the annual refresher training process.
Coordinates operator training programs at the facility by working with department representatives, corporate training group, and external vendors as needed to schedule and provide quality training classes ensuring operator needs and regulatory requirements are met.
Develops and supports Operations Excellence Improvement programs and initiatives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma required; Associate degree in Process Technology preferred.
Minimum three years industry experience refining, chemical or petrochemical industry experience required.
Renewable diesel experience preferred.
Basic math, reading, writing, computer and verbal skills.
Compensation:
Starting Salary will be $88,500 – 152,600, depending on experience (Grade 10-11).
