Appointment Scheduler

*SUMMARY* Position requires utilization of clinical knowledge to schedule appropriate appointments per provider’s orders.
Also requires excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public.
Must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner.
Individual must be organized and be able to manage demanding workload with accuracy.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* Answer incoming appointment requests via the appointment line, physician referral line, and incoming faxes in an accurate and timely manner.
· Confirm personal information, input insurance information, follow scheduling protocols for providers.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of medical terminology Highly developed attention to detail and organization skills are essential Multitasking to meet deadlines Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel, and general business equipment Excellent communication skills to write professional correspondence via letters or e-mail EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
