*Job description*
Bismarck Transition Center is currently hiring for a *Case Manager *at our new program Treatment Recovery Intervention Program (TRIP) The ninety (90) day program will be located at the BTC facility and will include comprehensive substance abuse, mental health and life skills programming.
It affords female offenders the opportunity for targeted programming and medical care prior to transitioning into the community.
*Case Managers* are responsible for providing support, education and guidance to the residents of the Bismarck Transition Center.
1.
Performs intake interviews with all new BTC residents and gains all appropriate back ground information from various criminal justice, mental health and addiction services through the completion of a Releases of Information (ROI).
2.
Formulates, provides, and directs the delivery of the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy groups and any additional non-chemical dependency programming to the residents of the BTC, to include the Assessment Center residents, BTC residents, and WSU residents.
3.
Reviews, critiques, and assesses the resident’s various screening instruments including but not limited to: Anxiety and Depression Screen, TCU Treatment Motivation Screen, TCU Criminal Thinking Screen, ASI/Accu-care, Medical Intake/Screens, PREA.
4.
Is a direct liaison with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (ND DOCR) and community based social services and mental health agencies.
5.
Participates in ongoing training and may provide training to staff when appropriate.
6.
Participates in resident staffing’s.
7.
Arranges all discharge planning to include referrals to community based serves and referrals to ND DOCR programming.
This discharge planning includes the gaining of ROI and the transferring of documentation to appropriate organizations.
8.
Active participant in the AC Clinical team to include crisis management and disciplinary actions.
9.
Assists in obtaining mental health appointments, medical health appointments, guidance through applying for various community bases services such as medication prescription programs and vocational rehabilitation services.
Initiates and assists residents for applying for social services such as housing, food stamps, disability, medical assistance and/or any other mental, medical or social need a resident may have.
10.
Performs any and all necessary security duties as needed, and if directed by the Behavioral Technician Coordinator and/or chain of command.

* Assists residents in the completion of budgets, schedules, orientation, etc.
12.
Promote the pro-social thinking, behaviors and attitudes of all BTC residents as evident by the participation within Motivational Increasing programs such as Positive Behavior Reports.
13.
Consistently scores Satisfactory (1) or above during audits of group facilitation and delivery.
14.
Consistently passes chart audits meeting the time lines and documentation standards outlined the BTC Program Standards Guide.
15.
Completes are required training and participates in the delivery of appraisals on inmate’s commitment to ND DOCR.
*Other Job Duties: DFunctions:* Compliance with Evidenced-Based Principles, incorporating the Eight Principles developed by the Transition from Prison to Community (TPCI); Cognitive Behavioral Theory; and Social Learning Theory.
All other duties as assigned by the Case Manager Supervisor or designee.
*Required Annual Training:* Employees new to CCCS, Inc.
are required to complete at least forty (40) hours of training relevant to their position during the first year of employment.
The Case Managers are required to complete at least forty (40) hours of training during each year of employment.
Additional training hours may be required for disciplinary, emergency or program-need reasons.
*Working Conditions:* Working Conditions require resilience, the ability to deal with stressful situations such as verbal confrontations with residents, and the ability to act quickly to de-escalate potentially explosive situations.
The possibility of physical aggression must be anticipated.
Mental alertness to be able to handle any incident with minimal physical force necessary to defend oneself, others, and property is necessary.
Approximately 90% of work is spent inside a climate-controlled environment with some background noise.
Approximately 10% of work is spent outside, in vehicles, or in another buildings, etc.
Local and/or state-wide travel may be required.
The Case Managers work five (5), eight (8) hours shifts per week.
The Case Managers may be required to work weekends, partial weekends, days, afternoons and evenings.
Considerable documentation, case planning, and progress noting is required.
Typing, organizational skills and time management skills are necessary.
*Material and Equipment:* Computer, telephone, printer, fax machine, general office supplies, white board, vehicles and resident files.
*Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:* Sitting/Standing Walking: approximately 50% of time is spent standing or moving around working areas, class rooms, negotiating stairs, and walking to outside areas.
Balance of the time (approximately 50%) is spent seated at a desk or in a meeting.
Speaking/Hearing: Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary with the public, contacts and co-workers.
Vision: Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary for effective use of computer screens, and reading client files and other documentation.
Reaching/Handling: Good manual dexterity for computer keyboard use, and the ability to retrieve and work with appropriate paper work, equipment, white board and supplies.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Extremely strong organizational skills.

Ability to assess priorities and work well under deadlines, in conjunction with excellent time management, and problem solving skills.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences or appropriate Behavioral Sciences field.

At least one (1) year of experience in Case Management, Teaching, Counseling or Human Service type of setting.
*Preferred Qualifications:* 1.
Experience working with adult offenders/and or experience working in a residential addiction’s treatment setting.

Education or experience with the delivery of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Criminal Thinking Errors, Anger Management, Life skills, Motivational Interviewing, Core Correctional Practices.
