*Pediatric Nurse Job Description*
Nurturing Wellness Pediatrics is looking for a caring, dedicated nurse (RN/LPN) to be responsible for the clinical care and coordination of care of the children and families of our practice.
The nurse will discuss a child's symptoms and medical history, provide initial care, administer immunizations and medications as ordered by the provider.
The nurse will also provide support to families and work with them to address their concerns, fears, problems, and options.

*Pediatric Nurse Responsibilities*
•Perform full service patient care
• Working with children and asking questions about their health for diagnosis and documenting patients' symptoms and medical history
• Assessing a child's needs and providing initial care
• Performs comprehensive health assessments from birth through 18 years of age
• Maintain current and accurate medical records
• Administer medications, vaccines, injections or treatments as ordered by provider following age-appropriate guidelines.
• Assessing temperature, pulse, breathing, and blood pressure, vision, hearing
• Accurate documentation
• Under the leadership and direction of the provider, dealing with the anxieties and demands of parents, and helping families to deal with their child's health challenges
• Communicate with pharmacies and insurance companies on behalf of provider and patient
• Process referrals to specialists
• Assess and triage patients through phone messaging with prompt response
• Maintain and monitor vaccine inventory and supplies
• Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice or organizational systems
• Maintain departmental policies, procedures, objectives, or infection control standards
• Develop nursing service philosophies, goals, policies, priorities, or procedures
• Identify training needs or conduct training sessions for nursing students and medical staff
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and service providers to ensure optimal patient care
• Develop, implement, and evaluate standards of nursing practice
• Present patients and families with information required to make informed healthcare and treatment decisions
• Monitor or evaluate medical condition of patients in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
• Participate in clinical research projects such as by reviewing protocols, reviewing patient records, monitoring compliance, and meeting with regulatory authorities
• Remaining up to date on the latest developments, rules and regulations, drug therapies, equipment, and treatment procedures

*Education:* Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred
*Experience: *1 year pediatric hospital and/or clinic experience preferred but not required
*Certification/License:* Currently holds an unencumbered RN/LPN license with the ND State Board of Nursing.
