For full salary package, click here: Total Rewards Calculator *Closing Date: * February 16, 2024 *Status:* Full-Time with State Benefit Package *Recruitment: * Internal/External *Location:* 1720 Burlington Drive, Bismarck, ND 58504 *Selecting Supervisor:* Steve Harstad, Chief Agent, Bureau of Criminal Investigation *Summary of Work* The Training Officer I position conducts training on National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and other systems and programs, and documents technical compliance with the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Policies.
The Training Officer I position includes the following responsibilities: 1.
Conduct training activities and develop programs of instruction and training/reference materials for Federal, State, Tribal, and Local Government users on a variety of NCIC policies and procedures, security requirements, audit requirements, and other training needs throughout the BCI Division.
2.
Assist in auditing agencies and document technical compliance with the CJIS Security Policy.
3.
Document and provide agency assistance for implementing the security-related controls for the Interface Agency and its users.
4.
Utilize the OpenFox terminal software to process NCIC applications for users.
5.
Maintain CJIS Online for criminal justice agency access.
6.
Maintain several online systems for criminal justice agencies.
7.
Test and provide reports of warrant system and conduct training demonstrations to agencies as needed.
8.
In-state travel is required.
9.
Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the monthly salary, this position includes fully paid health insurance for employee and family, the option to participate in employee-paid dental and vision for employee and family, participation in the state NDPERS defined benefit retirement plan as well as the option to participate in the 457 deferred compensation plan, the option to contribute to a medical spending account, and earning annual and sick leave.
Employees in this position are eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
*Minimum Qualifications* * Bachelor’s degree in a related field or high school diploma and four years’ experience in related field.
The hiring authority may allow specified work experience as a substitution of the education requirement on a year for year basis.
* Preference will be given to individuals with coursework and/or work experience in the criminal justice field.
* Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of a personal computer, with knowledge and use of a word processing package, and experience in Windows, spreadsheets, and databases.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate tactfully and with emphasis on customer service.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective harmonious working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
* Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
* Excellent prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.
* Successful completion of the interview process, along with reference checks, and extensive background and criminal record checks.
