Athletic Trainer Certified

_*SUMMARY:*_ The athletic trainer certified position at Therapy Solutions is responsible for providing services to contracted athletic programs.
This position works closely with the athletic teams by providing orthopedic evaluations and physical rehabilitation, advising and treating athletes in recovery from injury and providing injury prevention as necessary through practices and games.
_*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*_ _Working with Athletic Teams:_ * Demonstrate an ability to perform the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, first aid procedures and recondition.
* Ability to demonstrate proper taping, strapping, bracing and fitting of athletic equipment.
* Evaluates, manages and treats injuries.
* Maintains a medical file on each athlete and acts as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.
* Ability to carry out all prescribed treatments and recommendations of the physician.
* Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.
* Develops conditioning programs for injured and non-injured athletes.
* Prepares athletes for practice or competition and provides game/practice coverage at events.
* Evaluates and manages for concussions and helps treat athletes per concussion protocol.
* Inform and refer clients (parents, coaches) to appropriate professionals when diagnosis reveals additional course of treatment, follow-up care or referrals is needed.
* Maintains equipment to ensure it is operating properly and reports any issues or concerns to the necessary person.
* Provides First Aid/CPR in the case of a medical emergency.
* Ability to work in a variety of settings and weather climates.
* Ability to maintain a flexible schedule while working some nights and weekends.
_Additional Duties:_ * May become BAT certified upon mutual agreement.
* May provide DOT and Non-DOT drug testing services for walk-in or scheduled appointments.
* May provide DOT and Non-DOT alcohol testing services for walk-in or scheduled appointments.
* May cross-train for medical receptionist and rehab technician duties to provide coverage as needed.
_*WORK ENVIRONMENT:*_ * This position requires employees to be able to work in varying weather climates as well as at various businesses.
_*PHYSICAL DEMANDS:*_ * This position might require standing for long periods, working with medical equipment and being able to walk, run, kneel, crouch, lifting (approximately 50 pounds), stoop or crawl as well as physical exertion in order to assist clients.
_*TRAVEL:*_ * Travel is required for this position.
_*EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:*_ * Master’s degree in Athletic Training.
* Must pass the Board of Certification exam for Athletic Training.
* Must be licensed or be eligible for licensure in the state of North Dakota.
* Must maintain credentials according to BOC guidelines.
* Must maintain CPR/First Aid certification in accordance with BOC guidelines.
