*Job Description: *Material Manager
*Position Summary:* Under the direction of the Business Manager and the Clinical Director, the Material Manager oversees the company’s needs for inventory and supplies by managing vendor relationships, assessing supply needs and coordinating delivery schedules.
Their duties include training operations staff, signing purchase orders and tracking the flow of inventory through the company’s supply chain.
*Qualifications:*
1.
Age 18 or older, high school graduate with previous experience or college degree
2.
Willing to obtain CPR certification
3.
Reflects maturity and confidence in communication skills
4.
Dependable adherence to work schedule
5.
Medical-related work experience preferred
*Physical*
*Requirements:* 1.
Able to lift 40+ pounds (instrumentation and supplies)
2.
Physically able to perform CPR
3.
Negative Mantoux or chest x-ray with one year (will be provided at no cost)
4.
Hepatitis immunization (will be provided at no cost) or documented refusal to be vaccinated
*Responsibilities*
*Inventory Control/Coordination:*
A.
Purchases Surgical supplies using ENVI
B.
Coordinates all supply purchases
C.
Maintains Purchase Order log
D.
Reconciles Purchase Orders with Invoices via ENVI
E.
Codes Invoices and forwards Invoices to Business Manager for payment
F.
Develops working relationships with various supply vendors
G.
Maintains Surgical Inventory to ensure supplies are at correct levels for procedural needs
H.
Communicates with management regarding inventory supply concerns
I.
Has a good understanding of the cost structure and works to keep expenses down
J.
Evaluating suppliers on the basis of delivery speed for their products and services, price and quality
K.
Analyzing financial reports, price proposals and other information used to determine reasonable pricing
L.
Negotiating contracts for the organization and working out agreements with suppliers for product delivery
M.
Meeting with vendors and staff to discuss unacceptable and defective products and establish corrective action
N.
Evaluating and monitoring contracts to ensure suppliers and vendors are complying with terms and conditions
Education
A.
Participates in department inservices
B.
Becomes knowledgeable of department policies and procedures
C.
Participates in:
1.
Right to Know education
2.
Annual infection control education
D.
Participates in BLS instruction when provided
E.
Learns the rudiments of aseptic technique
F.
Understands and applies "Universal Precautions"
G.
May observe surgical intervention with approval of physician, patient and RN circulator
H.
Participates in department staff meetings
I.
Knows where to locate and how to access information in Right-to-Know manual
Confidentiality
Maintains confidential all observed or acquired information regarding all patients, their surgical procedure, and their perioperative experience
Special Projects
A.
Participates in self-evaluation in annual review of employee performance
B.
Makes recommendation for improvement in the delivery of services and patient safety
C.
Assists in collection of data for Quality Assurance
D.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.
50 - $45.
00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
