CHIEF JUDGE
STANDING ROCK SIOUX TRIBAL COURT
OPEN: Until Filled SALARY: Negotiable
The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is hereby soliciting applications for the position of CHIEF JUDGE of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court.
The compensation for the Chief Judge and the number of hours, days of employment and are all negotiable.
The terms of employment will be set forth in the negotiated Contract Agreement between the Chief Judge and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.
The Chief Judge will be compensated on an hourly basis.
In order to serve as the Chief Judge, candidates will need to meet the statutory perquisites outlined in Title I.
Section 1-301 of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Code of Justice, which requires that the incumbents: (1) must be at least 25 years of age; (2) must be of high moral character and integrity; (3) must never have been convicted of a criminal offenses, other traffic offenses, for which punishment of imprisonment was imposed; (4) must not have been dishonorably discharged from the Armed Services; (5) be physically able to carry out the duties of the office.
The Chief Judge must possess a Degree of Law from an ABA-Accredited law school and be a member in good standing of the Bar of any State or Federal Court.
Applications shall be in writing and include a professional resume, Proof of Bar Admission and legal qualifications.
Applicants may also submit other documents, including a professional legal writing sample and employment references.
The selected applicant will also be subject to Tribal, State & Federal Criminal Background Checks.

The worksite for this position is located at the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court, 51 Proposal Avenue in Fort Yates, ND.
The Sitting Bull College Transit provides transportation services, at a nominal cost, to and from Bismarck, ND, Mobridge, SD, McLaughlin, SD and Selfridge, ND, in coordination with the Tribal Work Day, which is from 8:00 a.

to 4:30 p.
