JobID: 708 Position Type: Support Staff/Adult Learning Center - Computer Instructor/GED Administrator Date Posted: 12/22/2023 Location: Adult Learning Center Date Available: August 2024 Closing Date: Open until Filled Non-Certified GED/Adult Education Instructor Looking for an enthusiastic individual to teach GED and Adult Basic Education students in the four content areas of Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Math.
Classroom environment is non-traditional, with a one-on-one multi-level tutoring dynamic.
QUALIFICATIONS: Holds a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent and meet one of the following three requirements to be employed.
Preference for a strong background in mathematics.
General understanding of computer applications.
Excellent communication skills and must be able to collaborate effectively with students, staff members, and community.
Such additions to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Program Coordinator PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Create a supportive and motivating learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of adult learners Utilize effective teaching strategies to facilitate understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Monitor online/at-home study progress of students Correct coursework and assess students’ progress Encourage students’ path toward their educational goals, monitor attendance, and follow-up with enrolled individuals This employee will assist with other duties as assigned by the coordinator to meet the needs of all students.
This employee must maintain confidentiality and a high level of ethical behavior.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Normally 175 working days (the actual number of working days may vary as determined by the superintendent).
Typically working 20 - 25 hours per week/ 9 months per year- with 2 evening hours once weekly.
Salary and benefits are determined by the Board of Education in accordance with the Classified Salary & Benefit Package.
The current salary range is $22.
00-$24.
50 per hour depending on experience.
This positions is eligible for all benefits including health, dental, vision, life, retirement, paid leave, and holiday pay.
EVALUATION: A performance review will be conducted annually in accordance with the provisions established by the administration and the Board.
Applicants who are residents of ND and eligible to claim veteran's preference must upload a Form DD214.
