We are seeking an experienced Solutions Manager to direct the successful delivery of impactful product deliverables for school stakeholders for the Curriculum and Student Outcomes Small Wins team.
This role blends servant leadership with decisive action.
The ideal Curriculum Small Wins Solutions Manager is accountable and responsible for all components of the product development cycle working within the framework of Human-Centered Design.
Those in this role are expected to have the technical expertise in online curriculum development to lead one development team and the practical knowledge to facilitate design thinking sessions in the best interest of school stakeholders.
It is expected that the deliveries of products under this role's auspice are thoughtful, timely, and consequential.
In each sprint, school teams and PVS curriculum small wins team will conduct a design thinking exercise to prioritize “small win” work, to develop the “small wins,” and to test, validate, and deliver as a single “team.
” The intent is twofold- first for our customers to participate in our development cycle and to get immediate value from work completed that will allow them to harvest time to build relationships with students & differentiate instruction.
Second, our PVS teams build relationships with our schools, understand their real-world problems & opportunities, and appreciate how they are using our curriculum to better inform the broader Product & Technology roadmap & development.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities : With thorough research and practical expertise, deeply understand the challenges expressed by school stakeholders and the solutions available to development teams within the design thinking framework.
Co-facilitate these design thinking sessions on a regular cadence with the Curriculum Small Wins Product Manager.
Create ways of working for a team with a divergent operating protocol.
Build trust and psychological safety among all members of the team to excel in this landscape.
Own the creation, development, maintenance, hygiene, and validation of all features, user stories, bugs, requirements, and acceptance criteria within the SaaS platform.
Hold the vision for the full scope of work in all stages of development.
Manage the entire backlog of work for the development team, executing on decisions related to timing, timeline, and bandwidth.
In consultation with the development team and the school stakeholders, define the scope, success metrics, and quality standards for each work item.
Be accountable and responsible for all product-related decisions for each work item produced by the team.
Develop documentation, strategic communications, and product demos to support each feature release and a variety of audiences.
Contribute technical and practical guidance for training materials.
Lead change management activities within varying spheres of influence, including at the development team level, within the product and technology workspace, and externally with school stakeholders.
Where appropriate, develop materials to support effective implementation of feature releases across a variety of school models.
Drive the conversation (which requires attendance) in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and refinements.
Support the collection of data to support the efficacy of features released and the team narrative.
Build and maintain a brand reliant on effectual product releases that make a true difference every day for teachers, students, and caretakers, using innovative ways of working to do so.
Manage by mitigating and resolving risks or dependencies for the development team to ensure delivery of a quality product.
Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree or 3 to 5 years of job-related experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the functions of the position.
Effective and efficient decision-making, the desire and ability to own those decisions and to communicate them broadly.
Ability to translate between school stakeholders and curriculum developers.
Strategic, thoughtful, and empathetic communication skills, both written and verbal.
Stellar analytical abilities and attention to detail.
Servant leadership within the team structure and without formal authority.
Deliver on commitments with the highest quality.
Identify potential problems, proactively work to solve them, and craft parallel processes to keep development in progress.
Knowledge of and experience with online curriculum development best practices.
Ability to juggle multiple features at once with dissimilar contexts and competing priorities.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The minimum full-time salary range is between $85,000 - $95,000.
