Theology and Catholic Studies Faculty The University of Mary invites applications for a joint faculty position in both Theology and Catholic Studies to begin in the fall semester 2024.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and rank.
Applicants should excel in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, demonstrate a commitment to supporting student formation outside of the classroom, and have an active research agenda.

Candidates with demonstrated ability to contribute to an interdisciplinary program and with knowledge of the broader Catholic intellectual tradition are desired.
Duties involve teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in Theology and Catholic Studies.
The position entails commitment to the program of Catholic Studies, a vibrant and apostolic program seeking the education of the whole of a student’s life through community engagement, individual mentoring, and a dedication to initiating students into the Catholic intellectual tradition.

Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to teaching theology formed by and responsive to Scripture and Tradition as presented by the Catholic Church’s Magisterium.
Applicants will be conversant in and able to teach courses which treat the biblical narrative of salvation history, Scripture’s role in the liturgy, and ancient, medieval, and modern forms of scriptural interpretation.
Applicants must also demonstrate understanding of the history and theology of the ecumenical councils and the roles and teachings of the saints and doctors of the Church.
The teaching load is 4/4.
Applicants must excel in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, demonstrate evidence of supporting student formation outside of the classroom, and have an active research agenda.
The successful candidate is expected to understand, support, and advance the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine mission and identity of the University of Mary (see www.

php) and to seek and receive the mandatum from the Ordinary of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bismarck.
