DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY (DSU) is a regional comprehensive institution within the North Dakota University System, whose primary role is to contribute to intellectual, social, economic, and cultural development, especially to Southwestern North Dakota.

DSU is seeking a Library Services Technician for Stoxen Library.
The purpose of this position is facilitating Stoxen Library as a vibrant learning center, including by enhancing connections between the library and students, in conjunction with student affairs professionals.
Provide technical implementation and troubleshooting.
Support end users by solving technology and access issues.
Maintain library resources and equipment.
Serve as supervisor to part-time employees and student workers where Library Director deems appropriate.
Process new materials for usage by the DSU community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · Education: Associate degree in library science, History, Social Science, English, Information Technology, or related field; OR o Directly related work experience and/or a combination of education and directly related work experience.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and enjoy the challenge a variety of tasks brings.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to work effectively as part of a team when needed.
• Detail oriented.
• Experience with library automation software preferred.
• Aptitude for learning new computer programs.
• The ability to interact effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff is an absolute must.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor degree in Library Science, History, Social Science, English, Information Technology, or related field • Experience implementing technology in a library setting or aptitude to learn.
• Six (6) months of related work experience.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Word, Canva, and other software.
• Experience using and operating a library management system (LMS).
• Experience in supervising staff.
DELIVERABLES & OUTCOMES: · Technical Services o Coordinate with campus IT department in managing library computers and printers.
o Provide technical training to staff.
o Prioritize and trouble-shoot end user problems.
o Monitor & troubleshoot authentication, activation, and maintaining databases to include collecting usage data.
o Manage the authentication, activation, and maintenance of access to e-serials.
o Process acquisitions and access to new and existing materials.
o Manage interlibrary loans (ILLs) and borrowing requests for print and electronic resources.
o Process hold requests and course reserves as requested by faculty or students.
o Other relevant technical duties as assigned.
· Circulation, Reference, and Supervision of part-time and student workers o Provide circulation, reference, and technical assistance to library patrons.
o Assist in supervising and training of part-time and student workers.
o Serve as first point of contact and supervisor when Library Director is not available.
o Other relevant duties and projects as assigned.
· Stoxen Library Online Presence and Image o Update, create, and maintain LibGuides as needed.
o Work with other DSU departments as to opening and closing hour changes for the library.
o Maintain Stoxen Library’s social media presence.
o Create signage for the library.
o Other relevant duties as assigned.
· Liaison with Theodore Roosevelt (TR) Center o The position will facilitate engagement between Stoxen Library and the database and archives of the Theodore Roosevelt Center.
This may include facilitating communication of digital projects to DSU students as part of library education, serving as a liaison between the TRC and students for the use of assets in research projects, and facilitating the documentation of digital and other assets held by the Theodore Roosevelt Center.
o Work with TR Center as needed to add their holdings into the Stoxen Library’s catalog.
o Will be the main Stoxen Library liaison to the TR Center.
o Other relevant duties as assigned and approved by the Stoxen Library Director.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE: · Salary range of $38,000-47,000/annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience · Comprehensive fringe benefits, including, but not limited to: o 100% employer-paid health insurance (family or single coverage) o NDPERS retirement o Tuition waiver benefits o Possible eligibility to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program with the US Department of Education.
