Part-time, Temporary Library Assistant
Required Qualifications:
Customer Service skills
This position is conditional upon an acceptable background check.
Comfortable with changing technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using software associated with library operations
Supervisory experience
Ability to work evenings, early mornings, or Sundays
Roles and Responsibilities:
Customer service is the most important skill for this position.
Supervising student workers at the front desk who are often the first impression for library visitors.
This position will greet visitors and provide informational services, check items in and out, send faxes, run a cash register, and shelve items.
Opening and closing the library if scheduled for an open or closing shift.
General support for the library director and technical services librarian.
Other duties will be assigned as comfort level rises, these duties may include designing book displays, helping with the processing of new materials, and helping with inventory processes of materials.
Work Hours/Pay Rate:
Anticipated number of hours each week will be 15-19 during a semester, depending on area need and schedules.
This position will start on March 1, 2024 or as soon as possible after
Pay is $15-19/hour dependent upon experience
