STARTING DATE: TBD WORK-STUDY/NON-WORK-STUDY/BOTH: BOTH COMPENSATION: $16.
00/hour SUMMARY OF POSITION/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for assisting the BSC Advising/PASS Grant Team with daily operations.
Hours to be determined based on school schedule, but office hours are between 8:00 and 4:00, Monday – Friday, expect to work up to 19 hours/week based on availability.
Position Description & Details DUTIES: While working within the office area greet visitors, answer phone, field questions, etc.
Guide students to advisor’s office, as well as offer directions and guidance to various campus offices.
Offer frontline advising assistance such as guidance with class adds and drops, schedule change reviews, program change form submissions and graduation applications.
Assist with on campus advising events as needed.
Make copies, enter data, compile information and update Advising Handbook.
Assist with special projects as they develop.
Maintain good public relations while working with faculty, staff and students.
Support innovation, creativity and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc.
in the department and as a whole for the college.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Requirements Required: Currently enrolled Bismarck State College student Strong work ethic, positive attitude, good communication skills.
Good computer software skills – Microsoft Office Suite, email and electronic calendar (i.
e.
, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
).
Ability and willingness to follow directions.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects.
Ability to work independently and handle interruptions.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (essential function).
