Position Overview:
Embedded Controls Engineer will be responsible for translating system/software specifications and objectives of the Controls and SW platform solution for lifting machine controls into functional controls features embedded in the software.
With a focus on supporting open-bench, in vehicle testing, and addressing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the integration of controls features into embedded software, ensuring seamless functionality within the vehicle's propulsion system
* Implement control requirements and features based on system specifications, translating performance objectives into precise control functions.
* Design and implement core functions and diagnostic algorithms to enhance vehicle power, torque, and drivability using Matlab, Embedded C/C++.
* Rigorously validate control functions to meet and exceed specified requirements, contributing to the overall success of the vehicle development cycle.
* Contribute to the design and architecture of embedded systems, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and reliability.
* Conduct thorough testing and debugging of embedded software to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and adherence to specifications.
* Optimize code for resource-constrained environments, focusing on performance improvements and memory management.
* Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for software design, implementation, and testing processes.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
* Bachelor/Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
* Adept in Classic Control Design.
Design, Develop and tune PIDs.
* Solid Background as Controls/SW developer using Matlab Simulink/Stateflow, Embedded C/C++, testing or calibration engineer.
Software development experience for lifting equipment applications is plus.
* Experience with designing/developing automotive control features.
* Identify and resolve issues related to control software, hardware, and system integration through effective troubleshooting and debugging.
* 3-5 years of hands-on experience in this domain and in lifting equipment or related industries is a plus.
* Conduct extensive testing and validation of control software to ensure adherence to specifications and compliance with safety standards.
* Experience with version control (e.
g.
, Git) and collaborative development tools.
* Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
