General Description: Cook’s/Aide's responsibility is to distribute and prepare nutritionally balanced meals for our students while maintaining a clean environment in the kitchen.
In addition will keep an accurate inventory of supplies and order replacement supplies as needed.
An aide will assist lead teachers in daily classroom needs, helping maintain cleanliness of the center and safety of the children.
Job duty ratio: Cook 85% and Aide 15% of day
Responsibilities:
-Determine meal count and distribute food to each classroom.
-Perform weekly food and supply inventory; submit list of needed items to management.
-Order food and supply items in addition will keep an accurate inventory of supplies and order replacement supplies as needed.
-Practice safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage.
-Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen, pantry and storage areas; wash items used for food preparation.
-Keep kitchen, including appliances, cabinets and all inventory, organized and clean.
-Ensure that all state and local health department, licensing, safety and nutritional requirements are met; follows standards of personal hygiene, safety, and sanitation.
-Attend and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and center events as requested
Requirements: Work cooperatively with staff and students.
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs.
unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
Must pass fingerprint clearance and background search for all appropriate agencies.
Must have knowledge of early childhood nutrition; production cooking.
Enjoy working with children in a collaborative setting.
