*Finance *- Bismarck, ND – *Accounting Technician II*

*Hiring Range: $17- $22/hr*
As an *Accounting Tech*, you will perform various technical accounting services for the Finance Section that supports the Public Health Division.
Each day you will perform various transactional and data functions to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, processing invoices and data entry in the state accounting system.
You will support finance team members by assisting with daily deposits, bank transfers, vendor statements and document scanning.
In addition, you will perform administrative duties that include opening and distributing mail, as well as with maintaining and ordering supplies.
*To thrive in this position, *you will have solid skills in Excel and in Word, attention to accuracy and detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with team members and vendors in order to troubleshoot errors.
Also, you'll need to be a team player who is willing to fill the gaps some days and to accept help from others.
*To be considered for this position*, you have a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and professional experience with accounts payable, depositing/recording of revenue, or in bookkeeping.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
Also, preference will be given to applicants who have experience with purchasing or procurement, state government procurement laws, rules and procedures, and PeopleSoft deposits and accounts payable.
