DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY (DSU) is a regional comprehensive institution within the North Dakota University System, whose primary role is to contribute to intellectual, social, economic, and cultural development, especially to Southwestern North Dakota.

DSU is seeking to hire Custodian.
Under general supervision, the Custodian performs a variety of custodial services both individually and with other Custodial Services staff in residence halls, academic and/or administrative facilities as assigned.
The position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the day-to-day cleanliness and attractiveness of university facilities, surrounding building areas, and set-up for activities.
The specific duties, tasks or combinations of tasks may vary according to the assigned facility(s); facility assignments may change to meet the needs of the department.
At this time, this custodian’s primary area will be Stoxen Library.
This position is designated as Essential Personnel and as such will have varying hours.
In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this position will be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours including assigned weekends.
This position reports to the Custodial Services Coordinator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
· Directly related work experience or a HS Diploma or GED
· Physically able to stand, walk, use hands dexterously, lift and carry up to 10 pounds, the majority of the time working
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:
· Good planning and organizational skills
· Well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to understand and follow safety procedures
· Demonstrated ability to operate cleaning equipment
· Demonstrated ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies
· Demonstrated ability to work independently and with coworkers
· Driver’s license
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of assigned area(s)
· Deep clean area(s) as instructed/needed
· Sanitize area(s) daily following specified procedures and additional areas when requested or as needed.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
· Salary of $38,000-40,000/annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience
· Comprehensive fringe benefits, including, but not limited to:

o Tuition waiver benefits, for employee and spouse/dependents
o Possible eligibility to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program with the US Department of Education.
