Benefits COMPENSATION: $70,000 - $87,805 based on directly related experience.

gov/workforce/relocation-resources Position Description & Details Bismarck State College is seeking an Assistant Dean for Humanities, Arts, and Sciences who is dedicated to serving as a strong advocate for students and promoting their success.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all academic programs, both credit and non-credit, as well as operational activities within the assigned departments.

Academic Program Oversight: Take charge of all academic programs within the assigned departments, ensuring their effectiveness and alignment with the college's mission and goals.
Staff Assignments and Scheduling: Collaborate with the Academic Dean to prepare staff assignments, course schedules, and faculty workloads.
Optimize course schedules to meet unit cost goals and increase course fill rates.
Faculty Recruitment and Development: Work closely with the Academic Dean to recruit, mentor, develop, evaluate, and retain both full-time and adjunct faculty.
Foster a supportive environment for faculty growth and success.
Curriculum Development: Supervise the development and implementation of new programs and curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry and workforce needs.
Oversee revisions of existing curriculum to enhance student learning outcomes.
Academic Innovation: Drive academic innovation, continuous quality improvement, and academic assessment to support student success and achieve strategic goals.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership for accreditation efforts, K-12 partnerships, and Business and Industry Leadership Teams (BILTs) public-private partnerships.
Recruitment and Retention: Contribute to meeting the college's strategic recruitment, enrollment, retention, and completion goals.

Educational Background: A Master's degree is required.
Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with four years of related administrative experience is acceptable, with a commitment to completing a master’s degree within four years of employment.
Administrative Experience: Two years of related administrative experience for candidates with a master’s degree.
Four years of related administrative experience for candidates with a bachelor’s degree.
Student Success Focus: Demonstrated experience in promoting and achieving student success outcomes.
Management and Leadership Skills: Proven effective management, leadership, supervisory, organizational, budgeting, and planning skills.
Collaborative Approach: Demonstrated effectiveness in working with faculty, administration, staff, and other support areas to achieve common goals.
Communication Proficiency: Excellent presentation skills with the ability to promote the college's mission and vision to diverse audiences.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in preparing reports and documents.
Technological Competence: Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.
).
Strong familiarity with internet-based tools and resources.
Problem Solving and Multitasking: Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet assigned deadlines.
