Please consider joining our growing team today! The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for leading or assisting a wide variety of HR activities such as: benefits, staffing, employee relations, policies, affirmative action and compensation.
Responsible for maintaining confidential and sensitive information and working directly with employees on a daily basis.
*Minimum Qualifications:* 1.
Associate degree may be considered with documentation of significant work experience in the HR field.
2.
Proficient computer and math skills.
3.
Two years of experience in HR related field.
Preferred Qualifications1.
Bachelor degree in HR Management or related field.
2.
Three-five years experience in HR with HR accreditation such as PHR or SPHR preferred.
3.
Excellent communication skills.
4.
Experience working in a construction related industry.
Duties & Responsibilities1.
Prepare job analysis and job descriptions and assist with job evaluations and salary administration.
2.
Responsible for job posting/recruitment, interview process, pre-employments screenings, new employee orientation and exit interviews.
3.
Responsible for the administrative functions of benefit programs for active employees and retirees if applicable.
4.
Compile, coordinate and submit employee and benefit data as required.
5.
Maintain employee files and benefit records for active employees.
6.
Provide assistance to employees and supervisors on a variety of basic policy and benefit questions.
7.
Coordinate the updating and distribution of materials in regards to benefits, summary plan descriptions, open enrollment and general communications.
8.
Responsible for the coordination of annual employee review process, employee survey, award programs, health fairs, etc.
as offered by location.
9.
Assist with the acquisition process by the integration of HR data into current system.
10.
Assist in the preparing and presenting of benefit changes, updates and training to employees.
11.
Coordinate, research, analyze and report on various benefit and wage requests.
12.
Track on a continuous basis data for workforce analysis, application logs, VETS 100, EEO-1, & AAP.
13.
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment laws.
14.
Complete requests for employment verification, withholding orders, unemployment claims, etc.
15.
Assist in training initiatives, workers comp claims, and investigative research as needed.
16.
Coordinate random drug and DMV screenings to ensure compliance.
17.
Interact with other departments (payroll, safety, environmental, equipment, etc.
) and managers/supervisors to establish and attain goals.
18.
Travel may be required including overnight stays.
19.
Perform other duties as assigned.
*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* 1.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2.
Strong organizational skills.
3.
Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
4.
Able to work independently and under time constraints.
5.
Ability to identify employee/customer needs and to effectively and tactfully respond.
6.
Ability to speak Spanish is a benefit within various regions.
7.
Must maintain confidentiality.
